The Japan Foundation, Manila and the National Art Gallery, National Museum of the Philippines, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan present a Philippine-Japan Art Photography Joint Exhibition to usher in the celebration of Philippines-Japan Friendship Month in July.
The Philippine exhibition entitled, “Swarm in the Aperture: Recent Photography in the Philippines" is curated by Patrick Flores, featuring works by Datu Arellano, Nana Buxani, Neil Daza, Kawayan De Guia, Tommy Hafalla, Wawi Navarroza, Gina Osterloh, Kat Palasi, Teena Saulo, Steve Tirona, and Vj Villafranca
The Japanese counterpart, “Counter-Photography: Japan’s Artists Today” features works by Eikoh Hosoe, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Miho Akioka, Miyuki Ichikawa, Akiko Sugiyama, Chie Yasuda, Kazuo Katase, Hiroko Inoue, Tomoko Yoneda, Tomoaki Ishihara, Michihiro Shimabuku.

A display of striking images from across our archipelago such as the Badjao stilt village of Basilan, the Muslim stilt village of Rio Hondo in Zamboanga, the fishermen of Siquijor, and the T'bolis of Lake Sebu, including the rugged shores of Itbayat in Batanes and the tranquil coasts of Iloilo.
The gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday at 9am to 6pm (except on May 23, the gallery will close at 4pm).
